A review in the Udon Thani Local Guide is free for the shop, with one rule: someone must actually visit the shop and write from first-hand experience. The author is Kitti or an assigned Content Creator.
The rules for reviews
- Shops cannot submit their own reviews. They wait until someone visits.
- Money cannot buy a review, a rating, or a place in the Michelin Guide section.
- Every review carries a disclosure label: the author went independently, the shop is a client of Mr.Kitdie, or the shop invited the author.
- Facts that change, such as opening hours and prices, show the date they were last checked and their sources.
- Content marked "Sample" is a design placeholder, not a real shop or real information.
How we earn money
Mr.Kitdie runs the Local Guide on advertising fees from shops, which pay for the servers, the domain and promoting the guide. Shops that pay are shown as ads, and the rules are:
- Every ad carries a clear "Sponsored" label. Ad pages are written from information the shop supplies, not from a visit, and they are never called reviews.
- Ads appear before reviews on the home page. Among ads, shops that also buy the Mr.Kitdie app package come first, and shops in the same group take turns at the top every day.
- The number of ads on the home page is capped, and the home page always shows reviews too. The remaining ads are listed on a separate Sponsored page.
- Links from ad pages are marked as sponsored, and ad pages are kept out of search-engine indexing.
- If we visit a shop that is also an advertiser, the review says so with the "client" label, and the ad is shown separately.
Mr.Kitdie's other services
Mr.Kitdie also makes content for businesses as a separate service. Using that service does not get a shop a review or a better review. If a shop is a client, the review says so.
